Dr. Joan Flinspach
Native of Fairfield, Iowa
--Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from University of Iowa with BA in History,
1980.
--Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Middle TN State University with
MA in
--Historic Preservation and Museum Studies, 1983.
--Directed the Historic General Dodge House, Council Bluffs, Iowa,
1984-86. This is the home of General Grenville Dodge, builder of
the Union Pacific Railroad.
--Directed the Boys Town Hall of History in Omaha, NE, 1986-1993.
This history museum chronicles the story of the founding of Father
Flanagan's Boys' Home and its growth to national stature as a child
care facility. Here Joan directed the design of much of the new
museum and the creation of numerous traveling exhibits.
--Brought to Lincoln Financial Group following a nationwide search,
Joan oversaw the construction of the new $6 million dollar Lincoln
Museum with a permanent exhibit which includes 11 galleries, 4 theaters,
and 18 computerized hands-on exhibits. Hired the current museum
staff and oversees a budget of $1.8 million.
