Jean T. D. Bandler
Jean
T. D. Bandler, daughter of Paul H. and Emily Taft Douglas, was
born in Illinois and has a lifetime interest in Abraham Lincoln.
She received her BA at Swarthmore College and her MSW and DSW at
the Columbia University School of Social Work.
A social worker, she has worked in family agencies, done research
on childrens services, taught social welfare and social policy,
and directed the undergraduate social work program at NYU.
Active in civic affairs, she is a past President of Community Service
Society in NYC, a founding member of the National Academy of Social
Insurance, a founder and past president of the Funeral Consumer
Alliance of Connecticut, and elected to the local Planning and Zoning
Commission where she serves as secretary.
Married to Ned Bandler, they live in Bridgewater, CT and have two
sons.
Appointed by the minority leader of the Senate.
